Tá Gach Lá Scoile Tábhachtach – Every School Day Counts
TUSLA Educational Welfare Services are launching and supporting the annual national attendance awareness campaign “Every School Day Counts” and we are delighted to say that we are taking part in this campaign this November.
The “Every School Day Counts” campaign aims to highlight the importance of school attendance with regard to achieving positive educational outcomes for children and young people.
Attendance, Retention and Participation are the cornerstones of our school and of Tusla EWS. We are running a “20 Day Challenge” between Monday 4th and Friday 29th of November 2019 where there will be a huge emphasis put on attending school EVERYDAY. Students will use their school diary to track their own attendance weekly.
We will be kicking off the week with a 1st to 3rd Year poster competition where students will get the opportunity to design their own posters on the importance of coming to school. Our Student Council will be meeting & discussing the campaign and brainstorming ideas on how to improve it. There will be plenty of prizes along the way and a main prize for the winning class.
As always we will need the support of our parents/guardians. We have put a few slides together on how you can “Make Every School Day Count” for your child. These tips have come from Parents to help Parents. We would like to thank you for your ongoing work and support in promoting school attendance.
